Spring 2013 Registration

Registration is open for Spring 2013. Woodstock United is fielding one team in the Boys U-19 Division. Players must be younger than 19 years old on August 1st 2013.

Go to the Registration page for more information, or just go to the registration site.

2012 Spring Season — Initial info from the league meeting

Here’s a rough outline of the Spring 2012 season:

04/01/2012 — First games played
06/17/2012 — Last games played
06/24/2012 — Last day for makeup games
There are no games on Easter/Passover or Memorial Day weekends.

The Boys HS team is playing in Division 5, with these teams:

Cornwall Gunners
Dutchess LRSA Devils
Liberty Liberty Devils
New Paltz Lightning
Poughkeepsie Rockets
Rhinebeck Riot
Southern Ulster Predators
Warwick Elite
Woodstock United
Yorktown Titans

The Girls HS team is playing in Division 4 with these teams:

Beacon Strikers
Florida Lady Spartans
Lat. de Pough. Warriors
Liberty Lady Red Devils
Woodstock Rainbows

Because the boys are in a 10-team division, it’s most likely they’ll play 9 games (one game against each of the other teams, with one bye week). The girls will probably play each of their opponents twice, once each at home and away, with 2 bye weeks in the 10 week schedule.

That’s all we have for now. The actual schedules are passed out the week before games begin, on March 24th.

2012 Spring Season opener

Spring season is almost underway. We have both boys and girls high school teams this spring and will find out what divisions we are in, who we are playing and what our schedule is at the seeding meeting on February 23rd.

If you haven’t finished signing up please get your material in now! That means electronic registration, checks and proof-of-age to the registrar. Let us know if you have questions or are having trouble with any aspect of registration.

Go Woodstock United!

Spring Wrap-up

Spring season ended on June 19th, with the Woodstock Tigers U13 Boys in the middle of their division, and both the Boys and Girls High School teams in second place in their divisions. Congratulations, everyone, on a season well played.

Woodstock United has a new Facebook page which we’re going to start using to announce scrimmage and tournament schedules. if you’d like to receive notification via your Facebook account, please use the “Like” button (on the left) to join up.

Have a great summer, come out for scrimmages at the Comeau, and keep your skills up between now and the beginning of Fall 2011 season.

2011 Spring Season – Fundraiser

Spring season is well under way and while the teams concentrate on playing and winning the club administration is looking to raise money for tournaments, scholarships, gear and coaching seminars.

We’re looking for community donations for our raffle, and contributions to the club.  We’re also looking for ideas — the most valuable commodity for any club.

If you see us out at a table at your supermarket, stop by and say hi!  Buy a raffle ticket!  And come see the teams play at the Comeau property on Sunday afternoons (check the spring schedule for home games).

Go Woodstock!

Spring Season 2011 is about to begin

Okay, technically, it’s already begun.  We are fielding three teams this spring: Boys in the U17 and U13 divisions, and Girls in the U17 division.  All in the East Hudson Youth Soccer League, of course.  Indoor practice has begun and we’ll be moving outdoors when the ice clears off the Comeau fields (which at the moment looks like it might be mid-July).

Some critical dates:

March 26th — The coaches’ conference.  This is an all-day event being held from 8am until about 4pm at Van Wyck Junior High School, 6 Hillside Lake Road, Hopewell Junction, NY.  One coach from each time must attend this event.  At the end of the day they pass out the team schedules, and if you’re not there the only other way to to get them is to drive down to Mahopac and retrieve them!

April 3rd – First games

April 24th (weekend) — no games for Easter/Passover weekend

May 29th (weekend) — no games for Memorial Day weekend

June 19th — Last games of season

Woodstock United — Division Champs!!

Woodstock United, Boys U-14 won their division for 2009/2010 and just returned from East Hudson’s Annual Dinner of Champions.  Congrats to Rich, Tony and the whole team!

Fall 2010 Tryouts

Dedicated Soccer Players!

Woodstock Travel Soccer is Looking To Expand

Woodstock United, the all-travel soccer club in Woodstock, NY, is looking for dedicated U-14 and High School players, both boys and girls, for the Fall 2010/Spring 2011 season.

Tryouts: Tuesday June 15th and Thursday June 17th, from 5:00pm to 6:30pm at the Comeau Field in Woodstock, NY.

If you’re a dedicated high school soccer player, from Freshman to Senior level, and you’re looking for an extended season — we play longer than the schools, and we play both fall and spring — and a very competitive level of soccer, Woodstock United is the place for you. We play in the East Hudson Valley Youth Soccer League (EHYSL: www.ehysl.org) with weekend games from September through November and in the spring from April through June. EHYSL and Woodstock United offer extensive opportunity for the advanced player, with access to State Cup, Olympic Development, East Hudson’s Academy and a wide selection of tournaments.

Our program is designed to supplement, rather than compete with, school sports programs. Any player on the high school team and attending practice during the high school season is exempt from travel practice. Our games are always played on weekends and will not interfere with high school games.
If you are interested, please contact the coaches at Woodstock United, and come check us out at the Comeau field on June 15h and/or 17th!

Both U-14 and High School eligible girls can contact Damien Delisio or Alan Brooks.
High School eligible boys can contact Rich Wright or Jeff Viglielmo.
